As much as I would like for things to be different, there is an indisputable fact that a lot of my close family and friends can attest too: I’m a massive nerd. It may come to a bit of shock for some folks, given my tough bad boy exterior but it is true. Running through my veins is all comic books, movie, and TV show trivia, coursing through my body, which, in retrospect, I should have this checked out by a professional doctor.
Fortunately, I have friends that also share the blessing and a curse for this love of all things, pop culture. For Jerico and I, this is certainly the case. Aside from co-hosting a podcast together with our other friend, Jordan; we have plenty of creative interests that we often share and collaborate on. I often shoot him a text with some weird idea I’d like to bring to life, and we riff on what would be feasible in making this work.
A month before his birthday, Jerico had reached out to arrange a shoot to celebrate another year around the sun, so to speak. The overall design of the shoot was straightforward in terms of composition, but I wanted to approach it by really bringing the background into play as well. Since there’s so much detail and shapes within it, it has a character all on its own, which would be a nice accentuation to the overall look of the photos.
