If lighting ever strikes twice, it’s a coincidence. Three or four times, you might have to check that place out, since it might be a safety hazard, in a literal sense. In a metaphorical manner, you better buy a lotto ticket this very moment cause you’re lucky.
For me, I was lucky to collaborate once again with a dear friend of mine. Working once again with Bear it All Shop, Mary had contacted me to do another shoot, this time with two of my friends from college, Rence and Theo. I was happy to do so, as I love Mary’s philosophy of a brand that is inclusive and not catered to any particular biases. This made the shoot all the more fun, as we played with this attitude, especially in the shots involving both models as both subjects empowered one another with strong, confident poses.
For the settings set in the park and on the curbside, we wanted to stay with the red outfits as it distinguishes itself from the busy background, but for the location set with the more vibrantly colorful tops, the white background was chosen to help put emphasis on the clothing itself. Since Mary is primarily using these images on her Instagram, the product is what’s crucial, so it was important to also get detail shots of the fabric of the tops as well, as it was a nice touch to see the name of the brand and the intricate pattern of the weave as well.
The connections we have in our life are important to hold on to. Whether or not we directly support one another in the projects we have in our life, knowing there are people that believe and advocate for our success is what’s more valuable. Mary is one of the friends where we equally support one another’s projects, and I hope to work on another session with her soon.
