Dan and Justine

I think it’s important that love has to be proactive in moving forward with one another. Even if one person might be falling behind, it’s crucial that one remembers the greater purpose they have and to help build each other up. It’s that sort of teamwork that will endure incredible hardships, and it’s the factor that defines our character, in love.

Dan and Justine are one of the most down to earth couples you’ll ever meet. Their heart for service to their church is what had brought them together in the first place, and has become strengthened together. When I did their engagement photos, a few months prior, I could see the quiet love they communicated next to each other during the day of their wedding.

Though they are keen to not show it, the anxiety built slowly between them as they got ready in their respective homes. As Dan, a few hours later, stood before the alter, the doors slowly opened and light edged itself into the room, silhouetting Justine as she walked down the aisle. Dan, in classic fashion, kept good composure but as she came closer, tears began falling on his face.

Love is a momentous opportunity that is afforded to us in this lifetime. To show love and to have it shown back is a gift that, at times we could take for granted. Yet, it is in that moment when we experience it, we recognize it right away, even if we might have not felt that feeling before. For Dan and Justine, it was as if, with each other, they’ve known all along.
